International Television Production (TVP) was created in 2008 with the acquisition of UK production company Carnival Film and TV Limited, the company’s first major strategic move into production outside the US.

Carnival is the producer of the ratings phenomenon, Downton Abbey for ITV, which is the most successful launch of a new series since 2007.  Carnival’s productions for 2010 also include Any Human Heart for C4 and a second series of Whitechapel for ITV.

The division is led by Michael Edelstein, President. Under Edelstein, TVP recently acquired Monkey Kingdom, a leading independent production company and proven innovator in non-scripted and entertainment formats. Edelstein announced the division’s strategic move to boost expansion into drama, comedy and entertainment.

TVP is targeted with transforming NBC Universal International into a leading destination for content creators and to drive profitable organic and acquisitive growth through world class international content with high production values.
